What is Juice?

Juice is a frontend for mpg123 and other players which provides a nifty dialog based playlist editor, etc. Even though I still support this program, I'm not actively adding any features. There are several reasons for this. First, the code is a mess. I originally wrote this to experiment with C++ and my base classes are totally screwed, not mentioning the fact that my widget sets can't even remotely be called extendable. The program is fully functional though and a couple of people are still actively using it, so while it's replacement is not out of the door yet, I'll be there to fix bugs and package juice.

This package history is probably out of date (I only update it every now and then). For an up-to-date list of changes, please refer to the package changelog.

The story behind juice

Juice was born one night at a Underwater Hockey Club party in 1998. I was DJ'ing (at the time I had one of those sound systems that used to annoy the neighbours, and a very large mp3 collection) for them and a friend and I had a discussion about how there wasn't any mp3 players around that had decent playlist support. A couple of weeks later I thought it would be a cool project to write one and during the 1998 summer holiday I wrote juice.
